Dick’s Classic Motors proudly presents an iconic piece of automotive history – a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop – available for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. This full-frame-off, rotisserie restoration is brought to you by Classic Car Addict, and it is a testament to the artistry and passion that goes into restoring a classic vehicle.
The 1957 Bel Air is a true symbol of its era, often regarded as the pinnacle of 1950s automotive design. These cars have become synonymous with style and performance, making them one of the most sought-after models for collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
Step inside this Bel Air, and you’ll be greeted by an inviting cabin featuring a split-folding front bench seat, upholstered in a striking red leather with black patterned inserts. The rear bench and door panels match the same red and black theme, creating a harmonious, vintage atmosphere.
The classic metal dash houses an AM radio, an analog clock, and a newly retrofitted air conditioning system for added comfort. Four occupants are secured with lap belts, ensuring both style and safety. The chrome two-spoke steering wheel with a horn ring and column shifter are a nostalgic nod to its vintage charm. Classic Instruments replacement gauges, including a 140-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer, provide the driver with all the necessary information. The five-digit odometer shows only 150 miles, representing the total distance driven since the full restoration was completed.
The Matador Red and India Ivory exterior finishes provide a striking visual contrast, and the car does not disappoint in its presentation. The re-chromed front grille, with its large lower bumper and two small Dagmars with rubber tips, adds a touch of boldness. The classic Bel Air gold egg-crate grille trim completes the iconic look. The rear quarters feature the ribbed Ivory fin panel with gold Bel Air badging, further enhancing the car’s elegance. Additional upgrades include twin wind splits, hooded headlights (upgraded to halogen lights), dual chrome mirrors, and hidden fuel filler.
The Billet Specialties polished rims are paired with Dunlop tires (P215/55R16 front and P235/55R17 rear), giving the car a modern edge while maintaining its classic aesthetic.
This Bel Air is not just about looks – it’s about performance too. It now sits on an Art Morrison chassis (0807477), and features power rack and pinion steering, Wilwood hydro boost four-wheel disc brakes, shorty headers, and a Ford 9-inch rear end. The built 350 engine has been equipped with a variety of performance parts, including an aluminum mid-rise intake, Quik Fuel four-barrel double pumper, Edelbrock air cleaner, and a Billett serpentine system. Vintage AC and electric fans keep everything running cool while you enjoy the drive.
Power is delivered through a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, ensuring smooth and powerful performance on any road.
