Dick’s Classic Motors is excited to present this one-owner 1968 Chevrolet C10 longbed pickup for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. This C10 has lived its entire life in Arizona and has only 28,713 miles on the clock. The second-generation C/K was introduced for the 1967 model year and was designated the “Action Line” generation by General Motors. While the C/K largely carried over its drop-center ladder frame and coil-sprung rear axle, the body was completely redesigned for better functionality as a multi-purpose vehicle.
Chevrolet C10 pickups from 1967 through 1972 played a pivotal role in the development of the modern sport truck hobby. While earlier models like the ’53-’56 Ford F-100 and the Chevy ’55-’57 pickups were key players in the street rod truck movement, the ’67-’72 Chevy/GMC C10s took the hobby to the next level. From high-end show trucks to “patina” barn finds, these trucks have remained incredibly popular.
Inside the cab, you’ll find new low-pile black carpeting, a newly reupholstered black vinyl bench seat, and matching black door panels. The dash is painted the same as the exterior with a black insert covering the original gauge cluster. The glove box holds the RPO codes along with a working light. The C10 was converted to R134 A/C, which blows nice and cold. It also features a working ALPINE CD/AM/FM radio. While the headliner has been removed, the cab interior still has matching paint.
Originally finished in Cardinal Red (514), the C10 underwent a full repaint in 2010. The new paint has a more orange hue than red but is in excellent condition. There is only one slight scratch on the lower passenger door, but otherwise, the paint is flawless and SHINES in the sun—looking even better at night. The truck also features factory roof cab lights that are fully functional, and all exterior lights and turn signals are in working order. The bed has been fitted with a new black spray-in bedliner, and the truck has a big back window with a dark tint, along with matching tinted side windows.
As part of the refurbishment, the truck received a replacement GM 350 crate engine fitted with a Carter AFB four-barrel carburetor. Power is delivered through a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional upgrades include an old-school Motorola electronic ignition, R134 A/C, power steering, a new gas tank, a new sending unit, and all fresh fluids. The truck also features heavy-duty drum brakes and a heavy-duty suspension. It rolls on steel 15-inch rims with 31×10.50R15 tires (though we recommend new tires).
