Dick’s Classic Motors proudly presents this stunning 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. This Chevelle has been thoughtfully modified with a custom 383 stroker engine paired with a Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission. This is no ordinary build – this Chevelle underwent a full frame-off rotisserie restoration, with no expense spared in the process. The sale will include a binder with before, during, and after restoration photos, the owner’s manual, original warranty, and many receipts documenting the extensive work completed.
The interior has been meticulously updated, starting with a donor 1971 Chevelle bench seat, donor floor console, new carpet, headliner, door panels, kick panels, armrests, seat belts, and chrome inner handles. In 2023, the consignor added new TMI black leather front racing seats to enhance both comfort and style. The dash features a classic reproduction Chevelle SS dash with stainless steel accents, a glove box, and oval air vents, while the upgraded Vintage AC system ensures comfort. AutoMeter Pro-Comp gauges display tach, 120 MPH speedometer, oil, water temp, fuel, and volts, all of which are fully functional. A GM tilt steering column paired with a brushed aluminum and Rosewood steering wheel adds to the vintage charm. For entertainment, there is a Kenwood AM/FM/CD/AUX deck with (5x) internal speakers, a 10″ subwoofer, and an amp. Embroidered Chevelle floormats add the perfect finishing touch.
Originally finished in Bright Blue Metallic (7171), the Chevelle was repainted in 2009 with a custom Cadillac CTS Black Cherry Metallic paint. The car is covered in three coats of paint and three coats of clear, which were wet sanded and power polished to a mirror-like glass finish. In 2023, XPEL clear coat was applied to the hood, trunk lid, and lower body sections for added protection. The body is all-metal with zero rust and is laser straight, with precision-fit panels throughout. The trunk has the original rear wheel tubs, with a new trunk lid and full trunk floor pan. All chrome, including the front and rear bumpers, grill, SS emblems, SS rear tail panel, and exterior door handles, was replaced in 2009, as well as new glass installed that year.
This Chevelle is powered by a custom-built GM 383 CID stroker V8, featuring a comp roller cam, Eagle crank, Edelbrock aluminum heads, and an aluminum intake with an MSD EFI Atomic TBI carburetor. The engine wears GM black valve covers and a K&N air cleaner, complemented by a polished Billet pulley system. The Tremec TKO-500 5-speed manual transmission is paired with a center force clutch and a hydraulic clutch slave reservoir located on the firewall. Cooling is handled by a Griffin aluminum radiator with twin electric high-flow fans, while the system is equipped with Billet AC bulkheads, and new rubber rad hoses were installed in 2023. The car also features MSD HEI distributor, MSD Atomic ECU, and new battery with a Painless 12-volt wiring harness.
For stopping power, this Chevelle boasts Wilwood 6-piston disc brakes with drilled rotors and calipers on the front, and Wilwood 4-piston disc brakes with drilled rotors and calipers on the rear. A Wilwood Billet firewall master cylinder, portioning valve, chrome brake booster, and stainless steel metal brake lines complete the system.
The suspension features QA1 Level 3 upper and lower tubular A-arms, QA1 adjustable coil-over shocks, a sway bar, and dropped spindles on the front. The rear has QA1 trailing arm suspension with QA1 adjustable coil-over shocks and a sway bar. The GM 12-bolt rear axle has been rebuilt with 3:73 Eaton Posi gears and high-performance axles, plus a custom driveshaft. The Trick Flow Aluminum differential cover is painted black for an added touch of custom styling.
